The visit will take place at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, according to the Ministry of External Affairs. The high-level summit is expected to focus on expanding bilateral cooperation across key sectors, including trade, investment, and defence, while also providing an opportunity for both leaders to exchange views on regional and global issues of mutual interest.

The Ministry of External Affairs stated that the summit will enable both countries to review the full spectrum of bilateral cooperation and identify new avenues for enhancing strategic engagement. The discussions are expected to reinforce the longstanding partnership between India and Japan and deepen collaboration in multiple areas of shared interest.
